Kai is an expanded animation artist from Hong Kong. She merges traditional hand-drawn animation with physical spaces through site-specific projections and optical installations, translating the medium’s intangible essence into tangible forms.
Kai’s subjects, which manifest through the shapeshifting nature of moving images, are visual dialogues between geometry, planetary rhythms, and intimate human observation.
Space Station No.9 came from an unknown origin. It is now orbiting Earth with modules for communication, habitation, an automated teleportation machine, and an animation workstation, serving as an exploration outpost at the frontier.
It is also the name of Kai’s little studio.
